Unity 6000.2 has reached its end of life and will not receive further updates. If you need additional fixes, please upgrade to a newer Unity version.
Reproduction steps:
1. Open the attached “IN-114452.zip” project with “-force-vulkan” launch option specified
2. Open the “SampleScene”
3. Enter Play mode
4. Wait for about 10-30 seconds
5. Observe the Editor
Expected result: The Editor is not frozen
Actual result: The Editor is frozen
Reproducible on: Windows 11
Not reproducible on: no other environments tested
Reproducible with these devices:
VLNQA00335, Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G (SM-G986B), Android 10, CPU: Exynos 990, GPU: Mali-G77
Notes:
The issue reproduces both in the Editor Play mode and built Android applications (might take a little longer to reproduce than in Play mode)
After freeze, Editor can only be closed through the Task Manager
Alternatively, if you don’t want to run the project with a launch option, you can switch to Vulkan Graphics API in the File > Project Settings and Player settings. Under Other Settings tab uncheck Auto Graphics API and add Vulkan to the list
