Reproduction steps:
1. Open the attached project ('TrailBug')
2. Open the scene 'Scenes/SampleScene'
3. Set the Shading Mode to 'Wireframe'
4. Make sure that the Alignment of the TrailRenderer component in the Trail GameObject is set to 'Transform Z'
5. Drag the 'Trail' GameObject in the Scene view
Expected result: The caps at the ends of the trail are facing outwards
Actual result: The caps at the ends of the trail are inverted
