Sprite renders black in Scene view after editing and clicking Apply with Scene Preview enabled in the Sprite Editor

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a new 2D URP project
2. Create a sprite: Assets > Create > 2D > Sprites > Square
3. Drag the sprite into the Hierarchy
4. Select the GameObject and click "Open Sprite Editor" in the Inspector
5. Click the eye icon to enable "Preview Sprite Changes in Scene"
6. Modify the sprite (e.g., drag a border handle inward)
7. Click Apply
8. Observe the Scene view

Actual results: Sprite appears black in the Scene and Game view

Expected results: Sprite changes border/position and remains white

Reproducible with versions: 6000.4.0a2, 6000.4.8f1, 6000.5.0b9, 6000.6.0a6

Not reproducible with versions: 6000.3.16f1, 6000.4.0a1

Tested on (OS): Ubuntu 24.04, macOS 26.4

Notes:

• Reopening the Editor makes the Sprite appears white again
• Entering Play mode also makes the Sprite appear white again
• On macOS the Sprite turns gray instead of black
• On some versions, the Sprite would turn black after enabling preview but would turn back white after clicking APply
