This is the focus limit of the ARKit camera. If you use other ARKit apps such as Reality Composer you will see the same limitation. You can also use the focus scene in the AR Foundation samples to see that it is hitting the limit of the focus range as reported by ARKit (at about 6" on my iPhone) The iOS camera app is likely doing additional processing to improve the focus range.

How to reproduce:
1. Build And Run the attached “iOSfocus.zip” project on iOS device
2. Move the device near any object (e.g., mouse)
3. Observe the app

Expected result: The camera focuses on the object
Actual result: The camera doesn’t focus on the object

Reproducible with: 2021.3.31f1, 2022.3.10f1, 2023.1.16f1, 2023.2.0b13, 2023.3.0a9
