We are adding a project validation rule to help detect and correct this at development and build time. This will be added to XR Plug-in Management v4.5.
Reproduction steps:
Open the attached project “ReproProject“
Open the “/Assets/Scenes/SampleScene.unity” Scene
Connect the Oculus Quest device with a USB cable
Go to File > Build Settings and switch to the Android platform
In Build Settings select Texture Compression as ASTC
Build and run on an Oculus Quest device
Once the app runs on a Quest device, click the pause button (Oculus icon on the right controller)
Look in different directions with the Oculus device
Expected result: Head tracking is working in the opened app when the Oculus pause menu is visible
Actual result: Head tracking freezes in the opened app when the Oculus pause menu is visible
