Unity Editor freezes after pressing the left mouse button in the Game view while in Play Mode

Reproduction steps:
1. Open the attached "crash_IN-55502.zip" project
2. Open the "2PlayerCombat" Scene
3. Enter the Play Mode
4. Press the left mouse button anywhere in the Game view

Expected result: Unity Editor doesn't freeze
Actual result: Unity Editor freezes
