This is regression in functionality is due to the change in text backend for IMGUI from the legacy TextNative system to the newer TextCore system. We did not plan to add this functionality back in TextCore because its usefulness is unclear and the cost is non-trivial. If you don't see any viable workaround for your specific use case, please provide more details around your use case and request the bug to be re-opened.

How to reproduce:
1. Extract and open the attached “IN-106695.zip“
2. Enter Play mode
3. Observe the Console

Expected result: “pos” remains 110 from “cursorPosition” 5 to 8 and ignores the “<b>“ Rich Text syntax.
Actual result: “pos” changes from 109.64 to 174.51 from “cursorPosition” 5 to 8, and does not ignore the “<b>“ Rich Text syntax.

Reproducible with: 2023.1.0a20 (88c767dfc7b6), 2023.1.0a20 (be935afddb32), 6000.0.52f1, 6000.1.9f1, 6000.2.0b8, 6000.3.0a1
Not Reproducible with: 2022.3.64f1, 2023.1.0a19

Reproducible on: MacOS 15.5 Silicon, Windows 11
Not reproducible on: No other environment tested
