Steps to reproduce:
- Create a new 2D URP project
- Assets > Create > 2D > Sprites > Circle
- Drag the Circle to the Hierarchy and select it
- In the Inspector, click the "Open Sprite Editor"
- In the Sprite Editor, click on the eye button to enable preview
- Again in the Inspector, click the "Open Sprite Editor"
- Observe the opened Sprite Editor
Actual results: It appears that the Sprite Editor opens the preview Sprite and "Selected object is not supported by Sprite Window." log is shown
Expected results: The Sprite Editor should reopen the selected Sprite and keep it editable when preview is enabled or disable the Open Sprite Editor button
Reproducible with versions: 6000.3.13f1, 6000.4.3f1, 6000.5.0b4, 6000.6.0a3
Can’t test with versions: 6000.0.73f1 (no preview option)
Tested on (OS): macOS 26.4

- The assigned Sprite in the Inspector also changes
