How to reproduce:
1. Open the “ProjectAsset“ project
2. Open the “SampleScene“
3. In the Project window right-click on the Assets folder and select Reimport All
4. After the reimport observe the Console window
Expected result: No warning or errors
Actual result: A warning “Fixing reference to the runtime script in scene file!“ and a custom error code “string is empty“ appears in the Console windows
Reproducible with: 6000.0.24f1, 6000.1.0a1
Could not test with: 2021.3.45f1, 2022.3.51f1 (“ReadObjectExample()“ does not get loaded of the “InputManager.asset“ is constantly null)
Reproducible on: macOS 14.6.1 (Intel), Windows 11 (Reporters)
Not reproducible on: No other environments tested
Notes:
Calling the “AssetDatabase.LoadAllAssetsAtPath“ method from a script works as expected
Asset load during the project opening works as expected
The issue is with the Reimport All
