Thank you for reporting a bug to Unity. We have reviewed the issue carefully, and in this case, the team is unable to prioritize fixing this bug. There are a number of reasons we make this decision, including the impact and severity of the issue across our user and customer base, and the possibility that future plans may solve the problem in a different way, or that a workaround for the bug may be available. Unity 6000.2 has reached its end of life and will not receive further updates. If you need additional fixes, please upgrade to a newer Unity version.
Cancelling: the 6000.1 version has reached its end of life. If you need additional fixes, please upgrade to a newer Unity version.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create project using empty HDRP Template
2. Create Local Volumetric Fog in Hierarchy window (Rendering > Local Volumetric Fog)
3. Select Local Volume Fog in Hierarchy window
4. In Inspector window Hover on Fog Distance
5. Read the Description
Actual results: “Local Volumetric Fog” property name suggest visibility distance, but the description refers to fog density and light absorption, making it difficult understand the effect of the property
Expected results: "Local Volumetric Fog" property name and description both indicates that it controls how far you can see through the fog
Reproducible with versions: 6000.0.57f1, 6000.1.16f1, 6000.2.3f1, 6000.3.0b1
Tested on (OS): macOS Silicon, Sequoia 15.6 (M1)
