when changing a variable data type its capsules are still wired with no error indication despite mismatching types

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a variable
2. Connect it to some node
3. Change the variable type
4. Observe the wired connection

Actual results: the connection looks valid

Expected results: the port on the node displays an error
