Cancelling this port, as the issue will be addressed in the 6000.0.x port
Cancelling this 2023.2 tech release issue since the support for this release has come to end of life. Cancelling this 2023.2 port case does not affect any LTS or Unity 6 Beta/Preview that remain open.
Closing, as this Unity version will no longer be getting updates.
Reproduction steps:
1. Open the attached “ASDQWE” project
2. Open the “Assets/Scenes/SampleScene.unity” Scene
3. Open the Profiler Window (Windows > Analysis > Profiler)
4. Enter the Play Mode
5. Select any frame
6. Observe the Graphics & Graphics Driver under the Memory tab
7. In the Project Window, select URP-HighFidelity-Renderer.asset
8. In the Inspector Window increase the Render Features > Custom Renderer Feature (Custom Renderer Feature) > Settings > Override Material Pass value to 2
9. Repeat the 5-6 steps
10. Repeat the 8th step but return the changed value to 1
11. Repeat the 5-6 steps
Expected result: Graphics & Graphics Driver memory usage returns to the initial value
Actual result: Graphics & Graphics Driver memory usage increases with every change in the Override Material Pass value
Reproducible with: 2022.3.13f1, 2023.1.20f1, 2023.2.0f1, 2023.3.0a14
Could not test with: 2021.3.32f1 (“error CS0117” and two “error CS1061” compilation errors)
Reproducible on: Intel macOS 14
Not reproducible on: No other environment tested
