Reproduction steps:
1. Open the attached “IN-114805.zip” project
2. Change the Editor Layout to default
3. Right-click on the Inspector tab and select Add Tab > Inspector
4. Observe the first Inspector window is now not active/”hidden”
5. From the Project window, select the “FBX_NeedsTwoApplies.fbx”
6. In the Inspector, change any setting (e.g. check any checkbox) and click Apply
7. Observe the changed property
Expected result: The setting change is applied
Actual result: The setting change is reverted
Reproducible with: 6000.2.0a9, 6000.2.4f1, 6000.3.0b1
Not reproducible with: 6000.0.57f1, 6000.2.0a8
Reproducible on: Windows 11
Not reproducible on: no other environments tested
Notes:
- The change only gets applied on the 2nd time and this occurs each time the .fbx is selected
- The issue does not occur if only 1 Inspector window is present
- The issue does not occur if both Inspector windows are active/visible
- This occurs when the FBX has serialized data in the clipAnimations array in the meta file, which is filled when editing any setting related to the clips like Loop, Start, End, etc
- Reproduces in all Import Settings tabs - Model, Rig, Animation, Materials
