How to reproduce:
1. Open the attached project "StrategyGameTest_20230515_2023.2.0a14.zip"
2. Open Window>2D>Tile Palette
3. Select "Grid" in the Hierarchy window
4. Press "S" on the keyboard
5. Left mouse click on the Grid in the Scene view
Expected results: No errors are thrown
Actual results: "NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object." thrown in the Console window

Not reproducible with: 2020.3.48f1, 2021.3.25f1, 2023.2.0a8
