How to reproduce:
1. Open the attached project "APVSubscenes.zip"
2. Select "New Sub Scene" in the Hierarchy window
3. Click the "Open" button in the Inspector window
4. Click the "Close" button in the Inspector window
5. Click the "Load" button in the Inspector window

Expected results: No errors are thrown
Actual results: "NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object" is thrown

Reproducible with: 1.2.1 (6000.0.5f1)

Reproducible on: Windows 10 22H2
Not reproducible on: No other environment tested
