Steps to reproduce:
- Open any Project with the "Enable in-scene UI Authoring" flag enabled (Project Settings > UI Toolkit)
- In a Scene create a UI Toolkit > Panel Renderer
- In the Project Browser create a UI Toolkit > UI Document Asset and assign it to the Panel Renderer
- In the Project Browser create a UI Toolkit > Panel Settings
- Select the Panel Render GO in the Hierarchy and drag the Panel Settings Asset to the Panel Renderer Component to assign it
- Observe the Scene View
- Unselect and reselect the Panel Renderer GO in the Hierarchy and observe Scene View
Actual results: The UI Preview Overlay does not show up immediately when assigning the Panel Settings Asset to the Panel Renderer Component, Game Object has to be reselected for it to show up
Expected results: UI Preview Overlay shows up immediately when assigning the Panel Settings Asset
Reproducible with versions: 6000.6.0b8, 6000.7.0a4
Can’t test with versions: 6000.0.81f1, 6000.3.22f1, 6000.5.8f1 (No in-Scene UI Authoring)
Tested on (OS): Windows 11
