How to reproduce:
- Open the attached project “IN-151223”
- In the menu bar, select “Tools → Repro → Capacity Abort”
- Observe the Editor
Actual result: A “Fatal Error!” window pops up showing an overflow in memory allocator
Expected result: An error is thrown in the console and the Editor is not forced to be closed
Reproducible with: 6000.5.0f1, 6000.5.10f1, 6000.6.0b9, 6000.7.0a5
Could not test with: 6000.5.0b12 (PhysicsWorldDefinition.capacity is not available)
Reproducible on: macOS 26.5.2 (M4 Max)
Not reproducible on: No other environments tested
Notes:
- Editor crashes using the 6000.5 stream
- “Fatal error!” window pops up with “Quit” being the only option available using 6000.6 and newer streams
- Changes made within a scene can still be saved after the “Fatal Error!” window pops up, however, that is not visually reflected in the Editor
- Editor silently closes if negative values are used instead of large values
