How to reproduce:
1. Create a new URP project
2. In the project Assets, create a new Editor folder and put the attached "CrashRepro_6635576542.cs" script inside
3. Select "Tools > Crash Repro > Sentry 6635576542", then confirm the check pop-up
Actual result: The Editor crashes
Expected result: The variant stays uncompiled (placeholder shader), and an error is logged. Compilation is retried later, or the failure is reported without terminating the Editor.
Reproducible with: 6000.6.8f1, 6000.7.0b7, 7000.0.0a10 (See notes)
Not reproducible with: 6000.0.85f1, 6000.3.28f1
Fixed in: 7000.0.0a11
Reproducible on: Windows 11 (User and CQA)
Not reproducible on: No other environment tested
Notes:
- Sentry reports crashes in both 6000.0.85f1 and 6000.3.26f1, but CQA was not able to reproduce the crash in these versions.
- The issue was also not reproducible on 7000.0.0a11 or later during testing, so it might be fixed, but it is unclear because of the note above.
