How to reproduce:
1. Open the attached “IN-140706“ project
2. Open the “Map“ scene
3. Open and observe the Game view output (Window > General > Game)
4. Close the Game view window
5. In the Project Settings, remove the existing Scripting Define Symbol (Edit > Project Settings > Player)
6. Enter Play mode and observe the Game view output
Actual result: The Game view output from step 3 is not the same as the Game view output from step 6
Expected result: The Game view output from step 3 is the same as the Game view output from step 6
Reproducible with: 6000.0.0f1, 6000.0.74f1, 6000.3.15f1, 6000.4.6f1, 6000.5.0b7, 6000.6.0a4
Could not test with: 2023.1.0a1 (Shadow Caster 2D does not have the Casting Source option, shadows break when downgrading)
Reproducible on: Windows 11
Not reproducible on: No other environments tested
Notes:
- 6000.0.0f1, 6000.0.74f1 reproduced only partially (Some shadow casters were created)
- Also reproduces when Scene view is open, but less consistently than when it closed
- Exiting and entering Play mode resolves the issue and the Shadow Casters appear again
