How to reproduce:
1. Create a new Unity project
2. In the Project window, right-click -> Create -> Animation -> Animator Controller
3. Open the created Asset
4. Create a few states and position them close to each other
5. Quickly click on them one by one

Expected results: All states have a blue selection when clicked on them
Actual results: Some states randomly are missing the blue selection

Reproducible with: 6000.0.65f1, 6000.3.3f1, 6000.4.0b3, 6000.5.0a3

Reproducible on: Ubuntu 24
Not reproducible on: macOS Tahoe 26

Notes:

Only reproducible when quickly clicking on the states
Also reproducible when holding the "Shift" key
Reproducible both when states overlap and don't overlap
