Reproduction steps:
1. Add the “Chinese - Simplified → Pinyin - Simplified“ input source on macOS
2. Change the input source to “Pinyin - Simplified”
3. Open the attached “repro_IN-85343“ project
4. Open the “Assets/Scenes/ReproScene.unity“ Scene
5. In the Hierarchy, select the “InputSystem“ GameObject
6. In the Inspector, make sure that the “Event System“ Component is disabled
7. Enter the Play Mode
8. In the Game window, in the input field at the bottom, type “zhongguo“
9. Press backspace to delete the typed text
10. Observe the input field
Expected result: The typed text is deleted normally
Actual result: No letters from the typed text are being deleted for a few backspace clicks and then the whole text is deleted after only one backspace click
Reproducible with: 2023.2.0a16, 6000.0.23f1
Not reproducible with: 2021.3.45f1, 2022.3.50f1, 2023.2.0a15
Reproducible on: macOS Ventura 13.6.6 (22G630)
Not reproducible on: Windows 10 (22H2)
Note: On 2021.3.45f1, the deletion works normally, but the text doesn’t appear while typing it
