Cancelling this 2023.2 tech release issue since the support for this release has come to end of life. Cancelling this 2023.2 port case does not affect any LTS or Unity 6 Beta/Preview that remain open.
Reproduction steps:
1. Open the “ReproProject“ project
2. Open the Bug Repro Editor window (Window > Bug Repro Editor Window)
3. Select the “Assets/Cube“ as the Target Object in the Bug Repro Editor window
4. Click the “Build to bundle“ button in the Bug Repro Editor window
5. Click the “Load and Instantiate Object“ button in the Bug Repro Editor window
6. Select the “Assets/StreamingAssets/cube” in the Open Asset Bundle popup window
7. Observe the Scene view
Expected result: The cube is gray
Actual result: The cube color is pink
Reproducible with: 2023.1.0a26, 2023.2.10f1, 2023.3.0b7
Not reproducible with: 2022.3.19f1
Couldn’t test with: 2021.3.35f1, 2023.1.0a1, 2023.1.0a25 (due to compilation errors)
Reproducible on: Windows 11 Pro (22H2)
Not reproducible on: No other environment tested
