How to reproduce:
1. Create and open the “High Definition 3D sample“ template
2. Open the “SampleScene“
3. Select the “Volume Room 3 Corridor” GameObject in the Hierarchy
4. Double-click “F“ to focus closer to the GameObject
5. Change the “Fog Attenuation“ to “1” in Volume Override of the “Volume Room 3 Corridor” GameObject in the Inspector
6. Rotate the Scene view camera and Observe the Scene view
Expected results: No temporal artifacts in fog
Actual results: The fog has noticeable temporal artifacts
Reproducible in: 6000.0.4f1, 6000.0.8f1
Not reproducible in: 2021.3.40f1, 2022.3.35f1, 6000.0.3f1
Reproduced on: Windows 11 Pro (23H2)
Not reproduced on: No other environment tested
Notes:
- There is a related issue: when the template is just created, the fog appears on the lower half of the world sphere (follows the Scene view camera)
- If the project is downgraded and re-upgraded to Unity 6 the secondary issue does not appear anymore, but the initial problem still does
