Unity: Lighting
Fixed
6.1.X
6.0.X
Fixed issue with URP lights where the Culling Mask property was ignored for shadow casters when using the GPU Resident Drawer.
Reproduction steps:
1. Open the attached “BugRepro” project
2. Open the “Scenes/SampleScene” Scene
3. Select the “Directional Light” GameObject in Hierarchy window
4. Make sure the “Rendering Layer” and “Culling Mask” options are set to “Default” in the Inspector window
5. Select the “Cube” GameObject in Hierarchy window
6. Make sure the Layer is set to “TransparentFX” in the Inspector window
7. Select the “Settings/PC_RPAsset” Asset
8. Change the “GPU Resident Drawer” value to “Disabled”
9. Observe Scene and Game Views
Expected result: A shadow is cast from “Cube” GameObject to the “Plane” GameObject
Actual result: No shadow is cast from “Cube” GameObject to the “Plane” GameObject
Reproducible with: 6000.0.28f1, 6000.1.0a5
Couldn’t test with: 2021.3.45f1, 2022.3.53f1 - No support for GPU Resident Drawer
Reproducible on: Windows 10, Windows 11 (user)
Not reproducible on: No other environments tested
Notes:
Shadows will be displayed when GPU Resident Drawer is enabled
